JONES, JAMES WYLIE
Synopsis:
The President of the United States takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to James Wylie Jones, Private First Class, U.S. Army, for extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against an armed enemy while serving with Company D, 130th Infantry Regiment, 33d Infantry Division, in action against enemy forces on 17 December 1944, in France. Private First Class Jones’ company was attacked by 400 elite German troops and was forced to withdraw. Private Jones voluntarily manned his machine gun to provide covering fire. Disregarding bullets that glanced off his machine gun, he picked up two German hand grenades and threw them back. Private Jones fought for twenty minutes single-handedly until he company could reorganize and counterattack. His intrepid actions, personal bravery and zealous devotion to duty exemplify the highest traditions of the military forces of the United States and reflect great credit upon himself, the 33d Infantry Division, and the United States Army.

Strictly Country question for Jadi Norris
1. What is your favorite inspirational song?
Mine has to be “Why Me Lord” by Kris Kristofferson and performed by J.D. Sumner and the Stamps.
2. Why do you like this song?
Because, in spite of me, God has blessed me beyond anything I deserve. I’m so thankful for this life and this song reminds me who gave it to me and of my responsibilty to make the best of it.

Jadi Norris is an enthusiastic and sincere cowboy. He sings of US soldiers, he sings of the working man’s Saturday night. He sings about his wife and his dad and his brother. He sings of travel and the characters he comes across during his shows. Norris wants to let it all out to the world, to share his life experiences and his passionate beliefs. And this he does, through candid country songs and upbeat, light Southern rock.
Norris certainly has that conservative tinge, and he’s also perhaps a bit too self-serious. But he does have strong story-telling skills, and lovers of modern country music culture, whether they are hoping for a ho-down or a heartfelt listen, will walk away with something they like. Norris has been through his own tragic accidents, so he’s no innocent. If you’re ready for the politics, you’ll find a charming country boy who is ready to croon and drawl to your heart’s delight. Band: Jadi Norris
ALBUM: “Make Hay”
LABEL: Jumpin Armadillo/IGO
When you really get down to the heart of country music it all comes back to a
song. Not just any song, but a great song. So the question that is often argued is
what is it that makes a song great? The answer although not often a simple one
is, go and give a listen to Jadi Norris’ new album Make Hay and you’ll get the
idea as to what a great song is. This is a singer/songwriter that simply knows
how to write and perform a country song and he shows it throughout this album.
He combines a little bit of everything from the honky-tonk branded sound on
“Borrowed Time” to the modern tinged country rock sounds of today with
“Workin’ Man’s Saturday Night” and “Home Is Where The Heart Is.”
However, the greatness in his songwriting comes when he makes you stop
tapping your feet and presents his ballads. His voice is used to carry you through
great story songs like “Not In Love By Morning” as the heavy lyrics focus on a
woman realizing that her affair with a married man is not at all what she is
looking for in a relationship. When you go out looking for a solid country
album, it is a safe bet that Make Hay will suit your every need. The combination
of solid vocals with great songwriting that brings together modern flare and
traditional influences perfectly is enough to satisfy any fan of the genre.
